I am having a great time incorporating Islam into my life and learning every that Allah (s.w.t) has willed us to do. I have yet to start taking arabic although I have a few friends that speak it and are willing to teach me. I am trying the best that I can and I know i have a ways to go. As far as being a true muslim women, I am taking it day by day. But I will be honest. As soon as I feel as if I am making progress, I learn something else that I am doing that I shouldnt. I can understand why islam is intimidating to others. It can be overwhelming and thats where I am. I am happy with my decision to become muslim. I just feel as if Its taking me so long to grow. Living in the states doesnt help. I am a student and have class during juma. This bothers me because I feel like this is my chance to connect with other muslim sisters however, I cannot miss class. My schedule does not permit for me to make my five prayers on time as they come in. Is this an excuse? no, not at all. I know I need to do a better job with this. I will pray to Allah to guide me in the straight path and to know that for every area i fail in, its not intended. While I am happy to be muslim, I feel bad that some things are hard for me to accept. For instance, short sleeves, makeup, eyebrows, nail polish, ect. These are just to name a few. I didnt drink before so that has not been a problem, neither is things like not clubbing. Just some things im trying to get use too. I will not get discourage however, I just will learning and reading and praying and doing the right thing inshallah. To my fellow bloggers, how good are you all with making your 5 salats. I have attached a poll let me know, I am interested in this. Shukrain!

Salams!:) I make all of my five daily prayers, alhamdulillah. Sometimes it can be hard though, esp. for Fajr prayer. I have a hard time waking up early in the morning. So sometimes I slip, occasionally I might be late, but I always try my best to perform all my prayers. I remember once I was at the mall and I had to pray:D lol the looks I got were funny!!:-) I don't like praying in public places but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, lol.
Salaams sis, I hear you. I have prayed publicly before. I did feel a little weird though bc I caught a few stairs. I can be honest and say that I try to make all 5 of them but sometimes I mess it. Its an area that I really need to work on.But inshallah my sis, this is something I am praying to Allah about and I know I just need to adjust my life and stop what I am doing because nothing is as important as praying to Allah
Assalamualaikum,
Alhamdulillah, I do all 5. Albeit it's not always on time. Being the only Muslim in the company, they don't have a prayer room thus I always pray in public places. At first it was uncomfortable, but now I am least bothered. Likewise, nothing is important as praying to Allah S.W.T. :)
W'salam,
Hajar
Dont worry sis. I think it's great that you are making an effort to do your best. InshAllah things will get easier in time:).
May Allah keep you steadfast sis.
I voted 5 times a day inshaAllah, I submit to the laws that Allah has ordained upon mankind. may Allah keep us all firm upon His deen, ameen.
Assalamualeikum sister,
You should take your time to adjust and not try to do everything at once, otherwise it becomes overwhelming. You know the stronger your iman gets, the easier it will be for you to let go of a lot of things, but it's a learning and growing process. It took me a while to let go of the eyebrows and now I'm used to not having my eyebrows done. As far as nailpolish, hey you can do it on the days when you're on your periods hence no need for wudu. On the other days, you can still do it but you would have to take them off for wudu which is kinda tedious...... Anyhow, we all have our flaws and shortcomings in ISLAM and inshallah with time and practice it all gets better. Allah is merciful and May He guide us and make it easy for us.
